What is difference in EV, PHEV, HEV and ICE?

EV are Electric Vehicles, think Tesla in US

EV uses only electricity from the battery as its power source without using fossil fuels

PHEVs are Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, think BMW X5 PHEV

PHEV uses both internal-combustion engine and electric motor, with the battery that can be charged by external power

HEVs are Hybrid Electric Vehicle, think Toyota Prius

Like PHEV, it uses both fossil fuel engine and electric motor,

But the major difference is that HEV's battery does not need to be charged from external power

ICE is Internal Combustion Engines vehicles

ICE vehicles ignite and combust fuel within an internal combustion engine
